We are pleased that after long preparation, we are able to start our services in the spring of 2005.  Hungarian music life has long been in need of a portal that addresses both musicians and their audience.

Our mission:

"To assist the successful emergence of Hungarian classical music and of Hungarian musicians in Hungary and abroad”

The first step in this long process is this website.

The concept of MusiciansWho differs from the concept of other ventures in this field.  While maintaining its non-profit character, our company has aimed from the very start to conduct its activities in a professional business-like manner, abiding by the written and unwritten rules of business life and, in this way, ensuring the successful achievement of its aims.

The MusiciansWho portal differs from other classical music websites in content as well. The basis of our concept is the creation of a database wich includes information about Hungarian artists and  which suitably introduces and represents Hungarian classical music in Hungary and abroad.  Uniquely in Hungary, all content appearing on the portal in Hungarian appears also in English.

Our ambition for the future is:

"To create the best-known and most trustworthy data and information database of Hungarian classical music."

In the Artist Database we have aimed for nothing less than for collecting the details of all classical musicians in Hungary and to introduce them in a systemized way to Hungarian and foreign audiences.

We believe that supporting young Hungarian musicians is of the highest importance.

In order to achieve this aim, we decided to start filling the Artist Database with details of young musicians. We have created a separate menu - young artists debut concerts - to draw attention to young Hungarian talent.

The portal has an Information Database that supports the professional improvement of youth by providing a collected and systemized database of competitions, scholarships, funding, courses, auditions, music events, etc., and that also provides valuable information to the audience. We aim to increase the scope of our services in order to serve all participants of Hungary's classical music life.

In order to provide numerouspossibilities with regards to the present and the future, the Information Database and the Artist Database are interrelated. To assure your satisfaction with all aspect of our service, We have used the most developed information-technology system available today.

Thank you for your attention and we kindly request that you write to us with your comments.

The initiators of the MusiciansWho project:

Péter Lakatos a partner at the international law firm Köves & Partners Clifford Chance LLP, has first come into contact with classical music via his piano studies as a child. Later Peter continued to maintain this connection and he tried to support the cause of classical music. Péter had an excellent opportunity for such support when, together with his friends, he started this project: using his legal and business experience, through MusiciansWho Péter can do a great deal to introduce Hungarian classical musicians world-wide.

András Kertész

an opera singer and music manager. For the past ten years he has been engaged in both singing and in classical music management. Already during his high school and university studies, András was executive officer of various organizations, which aimed to help young Hungarian musicians. After he finished his studies, András has continued this activity even as an active artist. He has lead projects, which aimed to introduce young musicians and to popularise classical music.

The meeting and the alliance of these two persons have created the possibility for this unique project, which offers many opportunities to help the future of classical music.
